Oatlands Scout Troop is one of 7 scout troops in the scouting district of Walton and Weybridge. As a Scout Troop, we offer adventurous and exhilarating activities for 10-14 year olds in the Walton and Weybridge area. Oatlands Scout Group celebrated 60 years in 2016!
Where possible we encourage the scouts, both boys & girls, to take part in adventurous activities that we have on offer such as – Mountain Biking, Caving, Rock Climbing, Horseriding, Hiking, Abseiling, Quad Biking, Caasteering and High Ropes. We also help raise money for Charity and the local area through the Oatlands Fair. We develop team building and boost confidence with the Scouts through teaching them various skills including tent building, cooking, survival skills, electronics, tying variety of knots, shelter building etc.
Our biggest fundraiser is the Oatfest Beer Festival which is being held 6 & 7th October 2017 this year.
The Oatfest is now in its 5th year and is growing every year!
This is a ticketed event and there are Live Bands during each session plus inflatables for the children on Saturday afternoon when children are permitted.
Please come along!
At Oatlands, we have been fortunate to go to locations all over the UK including North and South Wales, Devon, Dorset, The Yorkshire Dales, The Lake District, Scotland, The Peak District & Cornwall. We have also run numerous International Expeditions to Switzerland and Austria. 2017 will see the Scout Troop go to Dorset for their Summer Camp and there is another International Summer Camp due for 2018. Lucky Scouts!
Scouting uniquely prepares young people for adulthood in an increasingly more challenging world. Scouting works!
We thank you greatly for your support and sponsorship in the local community.
